Why Pastors, Ministers, and Faith-Based Organization Leaders Join Online Communities?

Let’s think about marketing for a minute. Marketing is done to reach a target audience. Theoretically, the more money and manpower added, the better the results. Usually, when the marketing efforts stop so do the website visits, calls, and financial support.

If pastors stop marketing, will new people come to the church?
If ministries stop marketing, will the community still support them?
If music artists stop marketing, will merchandise still move?
If business owners stop marketing, will profits decrease?
The answer: Most likely!

Social media marketing is the same way. One must continuously be engaging. However, unlike traditional marketing campaigns, social media marketing will continue to return value with the same level of investment as the online community becomes self-sustaining, the campaign grows virally, and the marketer builds their reputation with community members.

Joining an online community can enhance pastors, ministers, and faith-based organization leaders marketing efforts. When joining, remember each online community has a unique niche and personality. Success is determined by ones ability to effectively understand, navigate and communicate in that environment.

Most online communities allow users to say and do, pretty much, whatever they choose. Therefore, an entity must work hard to stand out and remain positive in what can be a very “dirty” society of webbies.

What online communities do you suggest for pastors, ministers, and faith-based organization leaders?
