The Media Should Know About Your Ministry, Part 6

How many people got saved at your church this Sunday? With whom did you share this great news? Did you tell your local TV station, newspaper or radio station? You should!

When something amazing happens in our ministries we think to tell our family, friends and Facebook, but what about the rest of the world. Pitch these stories to reporters and see how God works.

Here are a few ideas of testimonies you can pitch to the media. Hopefully this will spark some thoughts of ways to get the media interested in publicizing your ministry:

Everyone loves something free. If you are offering free workshops or seminars in any subject matter, shout it from the roof tops. Perhaps an article or blog can be written about your area of expertise followed up by an invitation to learn more.

Has a member of your ministry been elected or is running for public office. Show them your support in a big way by pitching the reason why they are best candidate. Also include volunteer work they have contributed to your ministry.

Websites are an essential tool in both business and ministry today. When your ministry has a new website or has added some cool new features, you want the media to know. But if your site already existed, your modification has to be major to really grab others’ attention.

The men and women of the military sacrifice immensely for the whole country. If a member of your ministry is called out, cheer for them. Sharing the support you offer for their family and friends, shows outstanding compassion and kindness.

Your ministry is doing great things for the community and God’s children. Pitch it to the media. Give them an opportunity to report the good and positive ways God is changing lives.
